Thank you for agreeing to become a Champion for Food Bank Aid’s Fill the Gap Fundraising Campaign 2026. These FAQs will tell you everything you need to know to help us reach our goal together.

The shocking facts are that in 2026, 1 in 3 children in London is now living in poverty.

We urgently need your support this weekend to ensure that they and their families have the vital food to not just survive, but also thrive.

Essential food and cooking ingredients
We supply the core ingredients people need to cook simple, nourishing meals
– including fresh produce, cupboard staples and cooking essentials.

Toiletries and dignity items
We provide everyday personal care items such as nappies, period care, dental products and toiletries, matched to age and need.

Cleaning and household products
We provide cleaning and laundry essentials that help people stay clean, comfortable and at home, whether in busy households or temporary accommodation.

Supporting local food banks
We support a network of diverse and dynamic food banks every week, which in turn, support 20,000 people facing poverty.

Everything you need to know to “Fill the Gap” and making our campaign successful

The campaign will run from 10am, Sunday 1st March through to 10pm, Monday 2nd March. Donations after this may not be matched.

From Sunday, you’ll reach out to your friends, family, neighbours and colleagues to ask for support via your Champion page.

You’ll receive a message to personalise and send via WhatsApp, SMS, or email.
Follow up with a call – it’s the most effective way.

You’ll be updated throughout and fully supported by Food Bank Aid.

You’ll receive it by Text and Email on Saturday, 28th February in the evening.

The link goes straight to your personal donation page and works on both mobile and desktop.

Not received? Contact Nicole: 07920 754 354.

It always helps to message your friends and family the week before the campaign goes live, to tell them that you’re a Champion and that you’ll be contacting them again in a week’s time.

So do talk about the campaign in advance, but wait to share your donation link until Sunday a.m on 1st March – it creates more impact.

We’ll message you just before we go live to give the green light.
