Food Bank Aid Vision
With no solutions on the horizon, and the cost-of-living crisis continuing to erode people’s finances, the mid term future looks bleak for many London families.
Our goal is to continue expanding Food Bank Aid’s operations to support more food banks across London and now we have spread into Hertfordshire and as time goes on, we intend to spread our wings much further afield.
In September 2021, generously supported by Landsec and now by Regal London, we moved to a new home in Finchley N12. Increased storage capacity allows us to buy and store more efficiently.
More space and easy access enable us to welcome much-needed new volunteers and donors.

Community-led Registered Charity
We are a charity that raises funds to purchase and deliver food and other essential items to a network of food banks across North London. Our model provides food banks with the products that they need to offer a varied choice to their guests (attendees).
We welcome debate and work collaboratively with other parties who are involved with food security, especially the managers and trustees of the food banks which we support. Our work with over 30 food banks is based on operating efficiently and in line with the expectations of food bank guests, volunteers and donors.
Our donation system is designed to prevent over-reliance on Food Bank Aid. We seek evidence from the food banks that we donate to that they have secured other product sources and funds and we collaborate on fundraising activities. We take these steps to enable food banks to develop other support streams to mitigate against them becoming overly reliant on Food Bank Aid. Food banks which receive donations also understand that they need to provide “wrap around” services that enable guests to access advice, benefits and services provided by other charities, to help those guests reduce or remove the requirement for food bank support.
We remain committed to progressive solutions in the area of food insecurity and strive to ensure our approach with food banks complements the wider suite of solutions to eradicate food poverty in London.
