Hunger is tightening its grip on London. And the effects on mental health are devastating – especially for children. With 17% of children in London living in poverty, the reality is overwhelming. Thousands of children are going to bed hungry and anxious; their futures unfulfilled because of food insecurity and hardship.
When schools are closed and free school meals aren’t available, children still have to eat. The money that usually goes towards electricity, clothing, and rent now has to stretch to provide even more food across the long holiday period.
Your donation can help us give more to children and teens struggling with food poverty. Food Bank Aid supports 33 food banks across London with essential food, toiletries, and household goods, so they can support 20,000 people each week – 5,000 of whom are children.
